Hello everyone! So, October was a weird month for me, my mental health spiraled and I couldn't read much. What saddens me is that I had this big Holloween-themed tbr with about 12 books and only read two books from said list. Anyway, these are the books I read during the month of October:

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-copy for an honest review. This book was cute! I love the chemistry and banter between Carter and Remmy. I loved how Remmy’s family was so welcomed to Carter! I did feel that the romance was a bit rushed, but I understand that it is a short read and that the story is about two guys who had like each other getting stuck in a blizzard.

If you are looking for a sweet-angst-free holiday read this is the perfect book for you.

I read this through Kindle Unlimited and it was part of my Holloween tbr, mostly because of the witches. I honestly don't know how to feel about this, I loved the writing style and the ambiance the author was able to create, but as far as characters go, I didn't feel connected to any of them. I also saw the twist coming, so yeah...

I've never read a book as clever as this one. I was so fascinated by the amount of thought and creativity that had to go on the process of crafting this book, and while this is not the greatest book I've ever read, it was worth it just for the originality of it. As I said, it's a fun read, however, I did find myself getting bored in some parts. I also had trouble picturing some of the descriptions, this could be a me-problem, but still... I was also left with the sensation of wanting more from the book like I was hoping for something to happen that never did. However, I love the characterization of the main character, especially Dennis's, because we get to know so well someone that never spoke one word and I find that that is a very difficult thing to do from a writer's perspective.

If like me you're an easily scared person, this book is the perfect light October read!

It's my first book by this author and it was hilarious and so relatable. As an introvert person, I appreciate every single time the author got us so well represented. I love how the poems are constructed in a way that the ending "twist" of remembering that the main subject is a cat, that's what gets you to laugh at loud. The pictures themselves are part of the punchline, and obviously funny. What else is left to say? Every cat lover should read this and every introvert should be delighted to be put up there with such majestic creatures.

This was also part of my Holloween tbr and I pretty much love everything Rainbow Rowell writes, this was no different. This is THE perfect fall read, especially for those who prefer the fluff over the gore. The dialogues as always kept that charm that characterizes Rainbow Rowell, the passing was appropriate and the ending felt fitting. My only complaint is that I wanted more chemistry between Deja and Josiah.

I wrote an in-depth review of this, you should check it out: https://www.keisbookishlife.com/home/review-the-electric-heir-by-victoria-lee

Overall, I love this book. It’s a well thought out story with greatly developed characters, it’s action-packed, gritty, and heart-wrenching.

Book's release date: March 17th, 2020 by Skyscape

That's all I read during October, not as good a month as September, but still okay. Now, November, that month is looking very promising, my tbr will be coming soon!

Until next time!
